Description

Sundance Resources is building a global iron ore business through the development of its flagship Mbalam-Nabeba Iron Ore Project located in Central Africa. The Project spans the border between the countries of Cameroon and the Republic of Congo and is an integrated Mine, Port and Rail Project with targeted annual production capacity of 35Mtpa for a minimum of 25 years. The first ten years (stage one) will be production of Direct Shipping Ore-quality high grade hematite. Stage two will be continuing production at 35Mtpa of Itabirite Hematite for at least a further 15 years. Sundance's goal is to leverage its first-mover advantage in this emerging African iron ore region to become a major global producer.

Sundance owns 90% of Cam Iron SA, its subsidiary company in Cameroon. Under the Mbalam Convention, the Cameroon Government has a right to a 10% free carry interest in each of the port, rail and mine project companies (CI PortCo SA, CI RailCo SA and Mbarga MineCo SA) and an additional 5% interest in the same companies where the equity requirements can be loaned to the State and then repaid with interest out of dividends.

Sundance owns 85% in Congo Iron SA, its subsidiary company in Republic of Congo. Under the signed Nabeba Mining Convention, the Congo Government has a right to take a 10% non-dilutable interest in Congo Iron SA pursuant to the Congo Mining Code.
