Southern Cross Goldfields Ltd is an ASX-listed company (ASX Code: SXG) focused on the exploration and development of a suite of high quality gold assets in the Southern Cross region of Western Australia.
The region is an established gold mining province, and the Company's tenements lie in close proximity to a number of large-scale mining operations, including Edna Mae (operated by Catalpa Resources) and Marvel Loch (operated by St Barbara Ltd).
The Company has a ,b>total JORC compliant resource inventory of 436,000 ounces of gold across a portfolio of predominantly oxide gold deposits in the Southern Cross region.
SXG has announced a production strategy based on the establishment of a centrally located 400,000tpa gold processing facility at the Marda Project, where the bulk of its resource base is centred.
A Feasibility Study is underway on the first seven oxide gold deposits, where it has defined a potential mining inventory sufficient to underpin the first three years of production at ~30,000oz pa.
Additional deposits within the Company's resource base are yet to be drilled to Measured or Indicated status, but have the potential to support incremental additions to this production base.
The Company is also progressing an aggressive exploration program targeting numerous brownfields and greenfields gold prospects within its tenements.
The Company has an experienced board and management team, and a strong share register with major shareholders including Mineral Resources Limited, Western Areas Limited and Heron Resources Limited.
