Legend Mining Limited ("Legend") is an Australian mining and exploration company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange. Legend's mission is to make value-adding mineral discoveries and utilise all available asset bases to maximise shareholder benefit. The company’s exploration focus is on the discovery of iron ore, base metal and precious metal deposits at its project areas in Cameroon and Western Australia.
Cameroon Project, West Africa
The Cameroon Project (iron, gold) is located in the southwestern region of Cameroon, West Africa. The Project covers approximately 3,900km2 and comprises four granted exploration permits. Legend holds a 90% onterest in the Project following the acquisition of 90% of Cameroon company Camina SA.
Pilbara Project, Western Australia
The Pilbara Project (iron, nickel-copper, zinc-copper) comprises 686km2 of tenure in the West Pilbara, all within 50km of Karratha. Legend and Fox Resources Limited (ASX:FXR) independently control a dominant portion of this emerging and exciting base metal district. The Project is considered prospective for iron ore (magnetite) mineralisation, intrusion-related (Ni-Cu) and volcanic hosted massive sulphide (Zn-Cu).
Mt Gibson Project, Western Australia
The Mt Gibson Project (zinc-copper-gold) is located 290km northeast of Perth in the Murchison Province and 100km south of the world class VHMS base metal mine at Golden Grove. Mt Gibson operated for 12 years as a gold mine producing 870,000 ounces of gold and has an estimated residual gold Mineral Resource (Indicated and Inferred) of 8.7Mt @ 1.98g/t Au for 559,000 ounces. The Project is considered prospective for volcanic hosted massive sulphide (Zn-Cu) and Archaean lode gold.
Gum Creek Project, Western Australia
The Gum Creek Project located 640km northeast of Perth in the Yilgarn Province was recently divested.
