Description
Global Nickel Investments Ltd ("Global Nickel") is a Sydney-based exploration & investment company that manages mineral and mining assets in Australia and New Zealand. The Company's is currently developing the Jutson Rocks Gold and Nickel project and the Mt Cornell Gold and Nickel project in Western Australia. The Company is also developing the Round Hill Gold Mine and the Longwoods Tops Igneous Complex Platinum project in New Zealand. The Company's primary focus in 2009 is the consolidation of its Gold, Nickel and Platinum Group Elements projects in Western Australia, and the completion of infrastructure building at Longwoods in New Zealand.
New Zealand Projects
Longwood (Platinum): The Longwood platinum project is located in an alluvial gold, platinum and quartz district of New Zealand. The Takitumu – Longwood area of southland New Zealand is well known for its alluvial platinum and gold deposits that are interpreted to have been sourced from the upper parts of the Longwood Range.
Round Hill (Gold) Global Nickel acquired a 50% interest in the Round Hill Alluvial Gold Mine. The Round Hill project is based on an existing mining permit (MP41653) and is currently undertaking a thorough bulk sampling and trial mining program.
Western Australia Projects
Jutson Rock (Nickel, Iron) The Jutson Rocks project comprises two adjacent exploration licenses which are prospective for Nickel Sulphides and Iron Ore, that run across a Greenstone Belt. Global Nickel also has a strategic Option agreement over a neighbouring tenement with current owner Graynic Metals Ltd.
New South Wales Projects
Emmaville Bauxite (Bauxite): Emmaville is located in New South Wales, the area is known to contain gibbsite-rich bauxite in historic deposits that are located in the region. Some 5.5 million tons of bauxite has been historically measured in these tenements.
