Description
Condor Metals Limited (CNK) was incorporated on 11 January 2008 and listed on the ASX in June 2008. It initially acquired a package of 26 tenements from Carrick Gold Limited and Shannon Resources Limited and was originally a wholly owned subsidiary of Carrick Gold Limited (CRK).
Condor Metals Limited is a Western Australian base metals exploration company with a focus on iron ore, manganese and nickel.
Condor’s vision is to deliver exceptional shareholder returns through the discovery, delineation and development of mineable minerals and metals.
The Company holds a diversified portfolio of highly prospective tenements for iron ore, manganese, nickel and other base metals in five main projects.
Dingo Range Project
The Dingo Range Project is located some 200 kilometres north of Leonora in Western Australia. The project is 80 kilometres north-north east of Darlot Gold Mine, 40 kilometres east of Bronzewing Gold Mine and 35 kilometres southwest of the Mt Fisher gold mining area.
Recent rock chip sampling has returned encouraging iron ore mineralisation.
The project lies in the north-northwest trending Dingo Range greenstone belt. The linear strike distance between the most northern and most southern tenement boundaries is approximately 64 kilometres and covers an area of 324 square kilometres.
There has been some highly encouraging mineralisation reported at projects located within close proximity to the Dingo Range tenements. This includes significant gold mineralisation surrounding Hurley’s Reward in the Melrose Project (6 kilometres from Dingo Range) and large scale uranium mineralisation at Lake Maitland (20 kilometres west of Dingo Range).
This provides us with a high level of optimism as to the future prospectivity of the Dingo Range Project.
Kallona Creek Prospect
The Kallona Creek Prospect is located approximately 70 kilometres southeast of the Nullagine townsite on the Balfour Downs sheet, within the East Pilbara district of Western Australia.
The tenement was granted to Condor at the end of the 2009 financial year.
0The area is prospective for iron ore, manganese, nickel and other base metals. Recent rock chip sampling has returned very high iron ore and manganese mineralisation. Exploration is ongoing to further develop this opportunity.
The Kallona Creek Prospect is located approximately 80 kilometres east of Fortescue Metals Group’s Cloudbreak Project which has granted third party access to its 270 kilometre mine to Port Headland railway line. We believe this significantly enhances the commerical viability and appeal of our Kallona Creek Prospect.
Grey Dam Nickel Prospect
The Grey Dam Nickel Prospect is located in the north east Coolgardie region, approximately 8 kilometres from the Kurnalpi townsite, some 80 kilometres east-north-east of Kalgoolie-Boulder.
The presence of nickel and cobalt mineralisation has proven to be signficant in the larger Grey Dam Prospect. This area is transacted by a strong mineralised north-northwest trending shear zone called the Avoca Shear which hosts gold and nickel mineralisation.
As detailed in Condor's September 2010 quarterly activites report, Grey Dam has a 14Mt @ 0.7% Ni near-surface zone of nickel cobalt mineralisation.
