China Steel produces Nickel Pig Iron and Merchant Pig Iron for the domestic Chinese market from a steel and iron alloy plant located near the city of Linyi in the Shandong province of China. Nickel pig iron is used by Chinese stainless steel producers as an alternative to pure nickel in the production of stainless steel. China Steel is distinguished by its commitment to producing high quality products at competitive prices in the world's largest metals market.
The Linyi Plant
The Linyi Plant is located near the city of Linyi, in Shandong Province on the eastern coast of China. There are 452 employees, including 53 engineers and technicians. Key management have over 60 years combined experience in the steel and alloy processing industries.
The Linyi Plant is close to coke supplies as well as road, rail and sea infrastructure. It is 100km from Rizhao Port, one of the major ports of China. Shanghai is approximately 550 km away. Shandong Province has 100 million people and it's GDP is second in China.
The Linyi Plant currently operates as a throughput plant, relying on its customers to supply laterite nickel ore and other raw materials to produce nickel pig iron. Operations and emission from the Plant are subject to compliance with local Chinese environmental regulations. Linyi Yilida Steel holds the required environmental certification issued by the Linyi Bureau of Environmental Protection.
