Description

Bondi Mining Ltd (Bondi) is an ASX listed company with a primary focus on uranium projects in the Northern Territory and Queensland. Bondi is focused on high grade cycle-proof uranium targets in favourable jurisdictions where exploration in the previous uranium boom was clearly ineffective. Bondi is also actively seeking advanced uranium opportunities in proven and secure jurisdictions.

Bondi has assembled a strong exploration team with a pedigree of uranium exploration success, and has been successful in targeting and advancing high grade uranium prospects in Australia. In late 2008, JOGMEC (Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation) entered into a Joint Exploration Agreement with Bondi over its Murphy Project in the Northern Territory. In February 2010, JOMGEC also enered into a JEA with Bondi for its North Maureen Project in Queensland. These are currently JOGMEC's only Uranium Joint Ventures in Australia.

Murphy Project

The Murphy project is located 1000 kilometres from Darwin and 700 kilometres from the town of Mount Isa (Fig 1). Sealed road reaches within 80 kilometres of the property, and the remainder of access is by good gravel roads and station tracks. The project consists of 8 granted tenements covering 9,056 square kilometres. The project is owned 100% by Bondi Mining Ltd.

The core tenements of the Murphy project were initially acquired in mid-2005 by Global Discovery Pty Ltd (a private company). The tenements were subsequently acquired by Buffalo Gold Ltd (a TSX venture-listed exploration company) through an option deal announced in March of 2006. Bondi Mining Ltd acquired the project in May of 2007 as part of a deal to acquire 100% of Buffalo Gold’s Uranium portfolio.

North Maureen Project

The North Maureen, Juntala and Mt Hogan Projects occur within the Georgetown Block, Queensland. Numerous significant uranium occurrences are present within the Georgetown Block, including the Maureen uranium deposit (owned by Mega Uranium) which is located approximately 10km to the south of the North Maureen Project area. Uranium-molybdenum mineralisation at Maureen is hosted by Devonian-Carboniferous sandstone of the Gilberton Formation which is overlain by Carboniferous rhyolitic volcanics. The deposit is located on the southeast margin of an interpreted cauldron collapse feature which is associated with Carboniferous volcanism and intrusive activity evident as a circular feature in regional aeromagnetics images. Numerous small uranium occurrences are present throughout the Georgetown Block often adjacent to circular features.
