Description

Boss ResourcesLimited is an Australian-based minerals exploration company with two extremely prospective gold projects in West Africa and a high quality oil shale project in Northern Tasmania.

Both the West African gold projects are located within the Birimian Greenstone Belts of Burkina Faso and show outstanding exploration potential with an ability to host numerous significant gold resources. The Golden Hill Project is located within the Houndé Greenstone Belt 240km south-west of Ouagadougou, and only 75km south of SEMAFO's 180,000 ounce per annum Mana gold mine (3.3 million ounce project) and 11km north-east of Orezone's 400,000 ounce Bondi resource. The project consists of three contiguous exploration permits that cover a total area of 470km2. The Gourma Project is located within the Fada N'Gourma Greenstone Belt 250km east of Ouagadougou and only 80km SSW of Niger's largest gold deposit, the 50,000 ounce per annum Samira Hill gold mine (1.9 million ounce project). The Gourma Project consists of four contiguous permits that cover a total area of 850km2. Boss Energy Limited owns a 100% interest in both projects.

The Latrobe Oil Project has a JORC indicated resource of 42 million tonnes of tasmanite oil shale of which approximately 6 million tonnes is at less than 20 metres from surface and amenable to open cut mining methods. An additional JORC compliant inferred resource of 30 million tonnes of tasmanite oil shale is estimated. Tasmanite oil shale is unique to Tasmania and has advantages over other Australian oil shales in that it can be used as a source of bitumen as well as oil. The company has an aggressive exploration program in place to increase the size, and upgrade the JORC category of the resource.

Due to the current world debt crisis, Boss Energy expects gold and oil prices to at least maintain, if not increase on current levels for the foreseeable future. With exploration commencing on highly prospective under-explored gold projects in Burkina Faso and steady progress being made with respect to a Latrobe oil shale processing agreement the future of Boss is assured.
