Main Forum•BHP Billiton has more shale gas assets on its radar. CTP in their sights????

According to today's http://www.energynewsbulletin.net BHP is hunting for shale gas acreage and that Kloppers hinted that Australian shale gas assets were being considered.
As most of you know CTP has some very large shale gas prospects and that makes me wonder whether BHP will swoop on CTP with their minuscule AU$63m market cap.

BHP has chosen to buy shale gas assets outside of Australia. In Australia there is a debate on whether the fracking process pollutes the ground water. BHP has not bought into the Australia gas market even though Australia has the 5th biggest source of shale gas on earth, or so I have read. There must be a reason. Be it political, social or actual. Who knows. I'm just happy the experiment is not first done in Australia. If there is not risk then we can follow. The gas will still be there.
